Abstract

The aim of the study: to analyze the survival rate of patients after surgical treatment of
bleeding from varicose veins of the esophagus and stomach (VVES) with cirrhosis of the liver
(CL).
Material and methods. The study included 710 patients with hemorrhagic complications of
liver cirrhosis. Portosystemic bypass surgery (PBS) was performed in 367 patients, total separation
of the gastro-esophageal collector (TSGEC) - 62, endoscopic interventions (EV) - 281.
Results. The total mortality rate was 51.8% (368 out of 710 patients). After PBS, this indicator
was 40.6% (149 out of 367), after TSGEC – 56.5% (35 out of 62) and after EV – 65.5% (184 out
of 281).
