IMMUNOLOGICAL CHANGES IN BLOOD PARAMETERS IN CHILDREN WITH MORPHEA (LIMITED SCLERODERMA)
Abstract
Limited scleroderma (LS) is an autoimmune disease of the connective tissue, which is based on
a cascade of immune reactions, including autoaggression, disturbances in the metabolic processes
of the extracellular matrix, and damage to endothelial cells. There is evidence of the important role
of impaired cellular immunity in the development of fibrosis in LS. So, in patients with LS, a
biopsy of healthy-looking skin around foci of sclerosis reveals its perivascular and diffuse
infiltration mainly by T-lymphocytes and macrophages.
